On the 7th of September, 1936, the last known Tasmanian Tiger died in captivity at the Hobart Zoo, Tasmania. Sixty-two years later in September of 1998 Murray McAllister, a physical education teacher in Melbourne Victoria, conducted the first of many expeditions, searching for the Tasmanian Tiger. Murray made expeditions into the Eastern part of Victoria in search of living specimens. His April 2009 expedition resulted in an edited 8 minute, 50 second video footage of a Tasmanian Tiger. This is a small snippet of the images obtained.
